A River Falls brewery has released two limited-edition beer labels to commemorate the University of Wisconsin-River Falls' historic NCAA Division III football championship win Jan. 4.

Swinging Bridge Brewing Company, 120 S. Main St., is selling limited-edition versions of two beers it launched in partnership with UW-River Falls at the start of the football season: Falcon Red and Falcon Flight Light Lager.

The limited-edition "National Championship Crowlers" say "2025 NCAA DIII National Champions" and include the date and location (Canton, Ohio) of the the championship game. Swinging Bridge started selling them Jan. 5.

Manager Cory Hart said Swinging Bridge will continue printing the labels as long as they have supplies. On each of the first two days of the cans' release, the brewery sold out of them.

"There's been tons of hype online and around town about the team," Hart said. "People loved the beers all fall, but the demand has been nothing like it has been since we came up with the championship label."

UW-River Falls, about 30 miles east of the Twin Cities, took home the NCAA Division III championship title Sunday, Jan. 4 in a 24-14 win over North Central (Illinois) – an undefeated team that won three of the last five DIII national championships – at the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. It was River Falls' first time in the title game, as well as the team's first appearance in the playoffs since 1996.

The partnership between Swinging Bridge and UW-River Falls started in August. Hart said the Falcons' football season has been "an amazing start to launching the beer."

A percentage of every UW-River Falls beer purchased goes to the university and its athletic department. Hart said the amount equates to about $1 a pint.

The brewery's Facebook post announcing the limited-edition cans received thousands of likes and over 100 comments from fans congratulating the team and expressing excitement about the beers.

According to Swinging Bridge, Falcon Red is a 5.3% ABV red lager that is "smooth and easy-drinking," and features "a subtle malty sweetness balanced by a light bitterness." Falcon Flight Light is a 4.8% ABV full-bodied pale lager that's a "crisp, refreshing brew for both light beer drinkers and craft beer enthusiasts."
