Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) will defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title against former GLORY kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven (1-0, 1 KO) tomorrow afternoon (Sat., May 23, 2026) at Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Their “Glory in Giza” boxing showdown will stream exclusively on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV).
Watch today’s official weigh ins LIVE at 1 p.m. ET in the embedded video above.
“The target has been on my back as long as I can remember,” Verhoeven told MMA Fighting. “The target is not on my back this time. I can cause for an upset. I can cause for a surprise. I’m going to bring something to the table that he hasn’t seen before. I’m going to move and I’m going to do things and I’m going to attack in a certain way that boxers just simply don’t do.”
“I’m jumping into this and I’m giving it everything that I have got,” Verhoeven continued. “It’s going to be one hell of a fight. I’m ready to shock the world. I think it’s time to find out who is the baddest man on the planet. So after I beat Oleksandr Usyk, let’s see who’s next. Because I’m ready to find out.”
