On Sunday, the bracket was officially revealed for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. For the fourth consecutive year, USC made the field, as the Trojans earned the No. 9 seed in Sacramento Region 4.
USC will travel to Columbia, South Carolina for the opening weekend of the tournament. The Trojans will take on No. 8 seed Clemson in the opening round on Saturday. The winner of that game will advance to a likely second round matchup with No. 1 seed South Carolina on Monday.
USC and South Carolina faced off back in November in Los Angeles. The Trojans played the Gamecocks tough, but ultimately fell 69-52.
This marks the first time in three years that USC will head on the road for the first weekend of the tournament. The past two years, the Women of Troy earned a No. 1 seed and hosted opening weekend games at Galen Center.
Traveling across the country to face a tough bracket draw will certainly be a major challenge for USC. However, given Lindsay Gottlieb’s track record as a coach, you certainly cannot count the Trojans out.
