USC baseball has not made it to the super regional round of the NCAA Tournament since 2002. But that streak could come to an end when the Trojans face No. 12 national seed Texas A&M in an elimination game on Monday.
After dominating in back-to-back games against Texas State and Texas A&M on Sunday, the Trojans are one victory away from winning the College Station Regional.

USC scored 29 runs across the two games, scoring 15 against Texas State and 14 to Texas A&M. The Trojans also gave up seven runs on Sunday, finishing with a 15-4 victory over Texas State and 14-3 victory over Texas A&M.
In the first game against Texas State, junior Kevin Takeuchi and freshman Walter Urbon led USC with eight RBIs collectively. Takeuchi gave the Trojans an early four-run lead off a grand slam in the top of the first inning.
A few hours later, in the second game against Texas A&M, junior Andrew Lamb hit a team-leading five RBIs. Sophomore right-hander Andrew Johnson took on most of the pitching workload, throwing 7.1 innings for the Trojans.
Across all four games of the regional, the Trojans have scored 48 run, putting up 19 runs against Lamar on Saturday.
USC will need to bring that dominant offense back to Blue Bell Park on Monday for the elimination game. The winner will play No. 5 national seed UNC in a best-of-three super regional to battle for a spot in the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Trojans’ last MCWS appearance was in 2001, and their most recent national championship was in 1998.
