Last weekend marked the 2026 Manning Passing Academy. The annual event serves as a showcase for high school football players, with many of the top college quarterbacks in the country serving as a counselors.
“The passing academy is a four-day clinic for high school football players hosted annually at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La.” USA TODAY wrote. “It was founded by Archie Manning in 1996, and has since come to often include other high-profile members of the Manning family tree, including Peyton and Eli Manning.”
This year, USC quarterback Jayden Maiava was one of the counselors at the event. Maiava was joined by some of the other top QBs in the country, including Big Ten peers Julian Sayin of Ohio State and Demond Williams Jr. of Washington.
The Manning Passing Academy is just the latest stop in Maiava’s busy summer. Back in May, he hosted a youth football camp in his home state of Hawaii. Later this month, he will also serve as one of USC’s player representatives at Big Ten Media Days.
Maiava is coming off of a 2025 season in which he threw for 3,711 yards and 24 touchdowns. As a redshirt senior this fall, he will look to put up even better numbers and lead USC to its first ever College Football Playoff.
