Team USA begins its quest for a second World Baseball Classic title against Brazil.

My USA vs. Brazil predictions expect a star-studded American team loaded with firepower to win in blowout fashion.

Let’s take a closer look at my World Baseball Classic best bets for Friday, March 6.

USA vs Brazil prediction

USA vs Brazil best bet: USA -9.5 (-125 at DraftKings)

Logan Webb is an elite groundball artist who can consistently keep the ball in the dirt — and miss plenty of bats — against a Brazilian squad that doesn’t feature any major leaguers.

He will get plenty of run support from a loaded lineup that can completely overwhelm with its power.

Projected Brazil starter Bo Takahashi has performed well in Nippon Professional Baseball but is reliant on inducing soft contact rather than missing bats.

His strikeout rate is well below average, leading to lots of balls in play. That’s a recipe for disaster against a USA lineup with so much firepower.

USA -9.5

Over 14

Logan Webb 5+ strikeouts

+208 at DraftKings

With run differential a potential tiebreaker, USA will be looking to start the WBC off on the right note and win decisively. They have the ability to pile up runs in a hurry with all of their power.

Webb is coming off a career-best strikeout campaign in which he generated 9.7 punchouts per nine innings. He efficiently struck out MLB lineups and should have little problem doing the same against Brazil.

Aaron Judge star player prop

Aaron Judge best bet: Over 0.5 home runs (+105 at DraftKings)

USA’s captain mashes right-handed pitching and should get at least a couple of at bats against Bo Takahashi. He puts a ton of balls in play and will have no margin for error against a batter with the kind of power Judge possesses.

Brazilian relievers are unlikely to fare any better against Aaron Judge, who should make plenty of noise in his WBC debut.

USA vs Brazil opening odds

  • Run line: USA -9.5 (-125) | Brazil +9.5 (+100)
