The SeaHags have won the NFC West 7 of the past 11 years. They've won the NFC Championship title 3 times during that span, including back to back the past 2 seasons with back to back super bowl appearances, winning one.
Until they are defeated and are no longer the NFC champs, they remain the best team in the NFC IMHO.

Great article!

This is a top five offense and top five defense, and every day I have to read about if Cam Newton’s dancing will deter the Panthers from winning a Super Bowl.

So if the Cards win the NFCW in the next 2 years...the Hags will still have won 7 out of 13 (more than 50%) and we will still have to consider them the best.

Wrong, they have the title of NFC Champs and the respect but the question is direct and that is who is the best team in the NFC now... and the Seahawks are not that because the records decided those past championships and their current record in comparison to others establish they currently are not

I think it's folly to try to guess at who is the "best team" in the midst of a season... I guess we can say who looks the best. But IMO, the BEST is the champion. Right now, the Hawks remain the champion and until they are officially dethroned - hopefully by us - I consider them the best...

They is no disputing they should be called the champ till they surrender the title but the title has less logic than an opinion based on their current play for saying who is the best now. This is not the same Seahawk team which as division champs competed last season and won. The entity has not remained unchanged and they now have injuries to their running backs. I would say they have the best front office at the moment because that correlates to multiple seasons till another achieves the same results, but this season is this season and as faulty an opinion might be, it holds a lot more weight than a different team which played last season in my opinion... because they have to earn the title for this season which they have yet to accomplished with a different team which is playing

But if someone asked me who is the champ, I would say the Seahawks... but who is the best now we really do not know, but till the Seahawks earn it for this year, they cannot have title and being the best as relative to one another

And when the Giants sneak in and win the NFC, I will find out more about what I do not know about what makes one become a champ lol

Are the Cowboys the best team in the NFC East right now then?

When I need a little pick-me-up I think about the Seahags making the worst call in the history of football. Awesome. It works every time and is neither illegal nor fattening.

They were the best team in the NFC last year. It ended with Carroll bent over on the sidelines looking like he was going to vomit on live TV. Right now....they need to catch us. Birdgang > Seahags.

As a Cards fan, I know that we haven't clinched the West "yet" ...just a playoff spot.

That's astounding how looked down on the NFC West has been until the past couple of years. Since 2005 when the Seahawks first went to the Super Bowl, the NFC West represented the NFC in 5 of those Super Bowls and the past 3.

We have shown to be the best in the NFC West up to this point. However, the Seahawks are peaking, unfortunately, at the right time. They are a serious threat, maybe more than the Panthers. They have championship pedigree. Until we bury them, I am not comfortable declaring us king. We have not completely earned it yet. I do believe us to be the better team, however. I think the loss of Thomas Rawls hurts them more than is being talked about.

Agreed. This makes them a 1 dimensional offense. Key on Wilson and you should be able to contain them. Still gotta score on them though.

Hmmmm..... I knew when I typed this post that the road to the Super Bowl would involve beating the Hags in the post season. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING would make me happier than to dethrone their asses in our house!!!!!
