USA baseball lineup vs. Dominican Republic: Updated batting order, starting pitchers for 2026 WBC semifinals originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The United States has been far from perfect in the World Baseball Classic, but perfection might need to be what Mark DeRosa's team strives for in the semifinals.
Team USA faces its toughest test yet with the Dominican Republic standing in the way. A loaded Dominican roster, powered by a collection of All-Star bats, has yet to lose in this World Baseball Classic and looks like the juggernaut the U.S. hoped to be.
The United States has a weapon it believes supersedes anything the Dominican Republic has: Paul Skenes. The Americans will send their top pitcher to the mound to face a star-studded Dominican lineup, setting the stage for what could be a classic game.
Skenes' performance might not mean much, however, if Team USA's own offense doesn't rise to the occasion after a passable five-run showing in the quarterfinals.
Here's a look at the United States' lineup for the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals against the Dominican Republic.

This section will be updated when Team USA's lineup is announced.
The United States hasn't yet revealed its lineup for Sunday's semifinal game. With the Dominican Republic bringing a loaded lineup to the table, pressure is on the U.S. to put its absolute best group together.
Here's the lineup DeRosa rolled out for the USA's win over Canada in the quarterfinals:

| 5. | Alex Bregman (3B) |
| 6. | Roman Anthony (LF) |
| 7. | Cal Raleigh (C) |

| 9. | Pete Crow-Armstrong (CF) |
Who is the United States' starting pitcher?
Pirates ace Paul Skenes will take the ball for Team USA against perhaps the toughest lineup in the World Baseball Classic.
Skenes struck out seven in four shutout innings against Mexico in pool play, allowing only one hit and one walk in a game the United States won 5-3.
Who is Dominican Republic's starting pitcher?
The Dominican Republic will hand the ball to Athletics starter Luis Severino for Sunday's semifinal game.
Phillies ace Cristopher Sanchez started for the D.R. in its quarterfinal win over South Korea, but Severino has a tougher test to face on Sunday night. The former Yankees and Mets starter has made one start in this tournament, allowing one earned run over four innings with five strikeouts in a 12-1 win over the Netherlands during pool play.
