Here's a look at which top-16 national seeds of the 64-team NCAA Softball Tournament bracket are facing possible elimination on Saturday:

NCAA Softball Tournament format, explained

The regional round of the NCAA tournament is double-elimination format, meaning a team needs to lose twice to face elimination. Teams are seeded 1-4 at each of the 16 regionals, with the 1- and 4-seeds playing in the first round of the bracket and seeds 2 and 3 matching up on the other side.

The winners advance to face off in the winner's bracket on May 16, with the winner of that game advancing straight to the regional championship on May 17. The two losers from the opening game also play on May 16, with the loser of that game being eliminated from the tournament.

From there, the loser of the winner's bracket game and the winner of the loser's bracket game face off to determine who advances to play in the championship game; the loser goes home.

The 2-0 team (i.e., the team that won its first game and the winner's bracket game) needs only to win one game on May 17 to advance to the super regionals. The 2-1 team must win two games to advance.
