The Arizona Cardinals announced that they agreed to terms with start tight end Trey McBride on a four-year extension on Thursday. It is a reported $76 million deal that makes him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history.
Averaging $19 million per year on the extension, it is the highest per-year average for a tight end in NFL history, topping Kansas City's Travis Kelce's deal at $17.1 million per year.
His $43 million in total guarantees is also the highest ever for a tight end, topping the $42.5 million that T.J. Hockenson got from the Minnesota Vikingas.
His $32.5 million fully guaranteed at signing is the most ever for a tight end contract extension. Baltimore's Mark Andrews had $30.1 million in his contract. It is the most fully guaranteed for a tight end extension but not in any tight end contract because Atlanta's Kyle Pitts' $32.9 million rookie contract was fully guaranteed because he was a first-round pick.
With his new contract, let's take a look at the highest-paid tight ends in the NFL.
