In March, Russell Wilson will become an unrestricted free agent and will look to continue his NFL career elsewhere.

The veteran QB would say to the media on Wednesday, “I’m not blinking. I know what I’m capable of. I think I showed that in Dallas." He would reference a Week 2 matchup with the New York Giants vs. the Dallas Cowboys that required overtime to decide the outcome. The Giants would get the win 40-37, and Wilson looked as if the clock had been turned back to his former self with the Seattle Seahawks.

In that game, Wilson would go 30 of 41 for 450 yards passing, while throwing for 3 touchdowns. Even with the loss, Wilson had brought an excitement back to the Giants, but it would soon fizzle out in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart after Wilson went 0-3 as the Giants' starter. Rumors would swirl leading up to the trade deadline about whether or not Wilson would be dealt to a team that needed a veteran leader, but a move never transpired.

Wilson has expressed a deep desire to keep playing, and even switched agents in the process. The 37-year-old still brings value to a team in need of a mentor/starter, but the days of old are behind him. He and his agent will test the market when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in March.
