Union Berlin set to announce new head coach

Mauro Lustrinelli is set to become the new 1. FC Union Berlin head coach, according to Kicker and Sky Germany.

Sky reports that Lustrinelli, the current coach of FC Thun in Switzerland, is expected to sign his contract and be officially presented later on Thursday.

Union Berlin will reportedly pay a fee of around €1 million to bring the coach to Germany from FC Thun, who he recently sensationally led to the Swiss championship.

Lustrinelli will succeed Marie-Louise Eta, who, after a successful spell as interim coach, is taking over the club’s women’s team.
