All of a sudden, there's a brand new candidate in the conversation to be Wisconsin's next athletic director.

According to Wildcat Authority's Jason Scheer, Arizona AD Desiree Reed-Francois is "actively involved" with the Badgers' opening.

Scheer went as far as to say that Reed-Francois is "in the final group of candidates."

This news is a bit shocking, as Wisconsin hasn't publicly revealed who is in the running, though Reed-Francois' name never seemed to be in consideration. Now, all of a sudden, she's potentially a finalist for Chris McIntosh's former job.

Marcus Sedberry remains the interim athletic director, but for how long? Wisconsin has been very open that they want to fill McIntosh's spot by the summer, and having a new AD around before a massive 2026 football season would be ideal.

While the exact number of candidates is unknown, all signs point towards Reed-Francois competing against two to four finalists for the position.
