As the AAU circuit is officially underway for the Summer, the focus will be on future recruits. For Michael Malone and the North Carolina Tar Heels' staff, they are out on the recruiting cycle already.
They spent Friday watching several recruits on the AAU circuit. That included a 2027 recruit that already had an offer from North Carolina — Beckham Black. The 2027 recruit is drawing significant interest from some major programs. And on Friday, Malone reaffirmed that offer to Black.
Per TarHeel247, Black confirmed that the Tar Heels told him his offer still stands. With Black playing well in Memphis, the new North Carolina staff got the chance to see him up close and personal. It sounded like an easy decision as well.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Black currently plays at Southeastern Prep in Orlando, Florida. He has a total of 21 offers including from Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas and North Carolina, among others.
Black is a five-star recruit who is ranked No. 3 nationally, the No. 1 point guard, and No. 2 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
