For the second-straight day, Michael Malone and the North Carolina Tar Heels have landed a big commitment for the 2026-27 roster.

After landing Cade Bennerman on Monday, the Tar Heels earned a commitment from center Sayon Keita. The Mali native verbally committed on Tuesday, per his agency, Gersh Sports.

At 7-foot, the 18-year-old Keita has a lot of tools to like. His overall offensive game is very polished; he's considered a good passer and can finish at the rim. He's projected to be a 2027 NBA lottery pick, so landing him was huge for the Tar Heels.

With Henri Veesaar leaving for the NBA, there was a big need for North Carolina's frontcourt. Malone and his staff went the international route to look for prospects and now they have one.
