LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky women's soccer took its season opener in shutout fashion against Detroit Mercy, 6-0.

Just 1:11 into the match, the Cats collect its first goal of the season from Alexis Tylenda to gain a one-goal advantage. One off a PK and one from the stripe from Alabama transfer Nadia Ramadan, UK quickly takes the three-goal lead in under 20 minutes of play.

Before the break, freshman Kyla Dawn adds one more to head into halftime up 4-0.

In the final 45-minutes of play, both Juliette Rayo and Dani Chaump tack on one a piece to lift UK to the win, 6-0. Wildcats out shot the visiting team 31-3, 13-1 on goal.

Kentucky opens up its 2026 slate with a 1-0-0 overall record. The next game will be held at Bell Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16.
