Tommy Gantt has officially arrived.
At UFC Fight Night 276, Gantt (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC drowned and finished fellow promotional debutant Artur Miniev (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) for a TKO stoppage at 2:51 of Round 2. The lightweight bout took place at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Gantt, 33, is a former North Carolina State University Division-I All-American wrestler, so it's no surprise he resorted to his roots in order to best attack. He repeatedly shot for takedowns on Miniev and eventually got one. He worked to the back mount and fired down punches. Miniev was unable to escape and the bouts was called off.
Gantt had a freakishly active pre-UFC career. Gantt competed three times as an amateur and 11 times as a professional in a one-year stretch prior to his Dana White's Contender Series offer in 2025. Gantt defeated Adam Livingston by first-round submission on DWCS to earn his UFC contract.
Miniev took the bout on less than one week's notice, replacing the injured Trey Ogden. The Ukraine-born Syndicate MMA product had impressed on the regional scene, competing most notably for Fury FC.
