UFC Macau Highlights! Yadong Returns To China With Main Event Submission

Song Yadong pushed his UFC stock to new heights earlier this morning (Sat., May 30, 2026) at UFC Macau LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Galaxy Arena in Macau, China, putting a suffocating stop to former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo with a second-round submission (guillotine choke).

Yadong, who entered Saturday’s main event a heavy betting favorite, was fighting for the first time on Chinese soil since 2018. In fact, two of Yadong’s first three UFC fights took place in China, but nothing ever since. Needless to say, Yadong’s marquee matchup at UFC Macau was a big one for his bantamweight title aspirations. It was up to Figueiredo to spoil Yadong’s homecoming and put a stop to his own recent struggles inside of the cage.

After a back-and-forth first round that ended with Figueiredo in top control, Yadong started to take over in the second. His punches began to land as Figueiredo looked like he was having trouble finding his range. That’s about the time Figueiredo launched in for a timely takedown attempt and got it. However, Yadong locked up a guillotine choke on the way down to the canvas and instantly put Figueiredo in trouble. Figueiredo tried to fight the grip, but it was way too tight. The former UFC champion eventually tapped.
