MMA fighter Cameron Smotherman fainted during Friday's weigh-in for UFC 324, a scary situation that resulted in the cancellation of his fight.

The American bantamweight stepped onto the scale, made weight at 135.5 pounds and collapsed seconds after walking away. Smotherman received immediate medical attention, but the camera cut away before we could see him regain consciousness or rise to his feet. He has since been transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.

Smotherman, 28, was scheduled to fight Ricky Turcios on Saturday in Las Vegas. He and Turcios both made weight before the cancellation of their bout. It's unclear at this point whether weight-cutting had anything to do with Smotherman's collapse.

Saturday's fight would've been Smotherman's fourth at the UFC level. The Houston native began his UFC career with a win over Jake Hadley but has since lost his last two fights via unanimous decision, most recently in June to Ricky Simon.

Hopefully Smotherman has a speedy recovery.
