Bekzat Almakhan picked up his first UFC win in emphatic fashion.
Almakhan (12-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) became the first to finish Brad Katona (14-5 MMA, 4-5 UFC) when he knocked him out at the 1:04 mark of Round 1 in their UFC 315 bantamweight bout Saturday at Bell Centre.
Just over a minute into the fight, Almakhan dropped Katona with a right uppercut, and put him out with two big follow-up shots.

Almakhan returned to the win column after losing a short-notice bout to former title challenger Umar Nurmagomedov in his UFC debut in March 2024. The Kazakhstani finisher asked for a quick turnaround on the mic, declaring himself as a future champion.
