UConn set to host Purdue in preseason exhibition

UConn men’s basketball has a loaded non-conference slate this season, facing teams such as Duke, Michigan, and Arizona, among other highly talented programs. On Wednesday, they added another impressive name to the list, joining Michigan State on the exhibition schedule.

The Huskies are set to take on Purdue on October 27 in Connecticut, location to be determined.

The Huskies and Boilermakers last faced off in the 2024 National Championship game when UConn cut down the nets after a 75-60 win in Glendale. All time, Purdue has won four of the six matchups between the two programs.

Matt Painter is entering a new era in West Lafayette after Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer, and Trey Kaufman-Renn all graduated this past spring. The Boilermakers are going to rely on a group of returners that includes CJ Cox, Omer Mayer, Gicarri Harris, and Daniel Jacobsen to all take that next step and fill the shoes that the three co-stars filled the past few years.

The Purdue game is the second preseason exhibition for the Huskies ahead of the 2026-27 season. UConn will also visit Michigan State to conclude a home-and-home exhibition series that began with a Husky win in Hartford last season.
