No. 7 UCLA softball took down Michigan State 10-2 in the series finale to complete the sweep at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Spartans gave the Bruins their biggest challenge of the series by forcing six innings, which was a steep difference from the shutout to start the series and their first inning domination in their previous game. Nonetheless, UCLA had their way with Michigan State and were led by senior pitcher Taylor Tinsley from the mound.

Tinsley gave up a run in the top of the first, but UCLA was able to swiftly tie the game back up with a homer to center field. Both teams would struggle to get on base in the second, but the Bruins exploded onto the scene in the third with two homers and two more runs leading to a four-run inning.

Michigan State would respond with a run in the top of the fourth, but UCLA would get a run of their own to keep the Bruins at a four run advantage.

Tinsley would allow one more hit and no runs in the final two innings, while the Bruins scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to initiate the run rule.

UCLA's veteran pitcher played all six innings and allowed six hits, a walk and two runs with five strikeouts against 25 batters bumping her earned run average to 2.78 on the season.

The Bruins will begin their next series against Rutgers at the Rutgers Softball Complex in Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday with an anticipated start time of 3 p.m. PT.
