Grant has matched a mark set by Laura Espinoza at Arizona in 1995

UCLA softball’s Megan Grant is one swing away from history. The senior joined rare air on Friday night when she tied Laura Espinoza for the most home runs in NCAA single-season history.
In the bottom of the second inning against Wisconsin in the Big Ten tournament semifinals, the left-handed Grant went the opposite way for her 37th homer of the 2026 campaign, matching Espinoza’s long-ball total that she accumulated at Arizona in 1995.
Espinoza accomplished that feat in 72 games, though. Grant did it in 54 games.
Grant has been jockeying with Oklahoma’s Kendall Wells to break Espinoza’s this season. The Sooners were bounced from the SEC tournament on Thursday, with Wells stuck at 36 dingers.
