Arkansas has secured a commitment from Central Florida transfer linebacker Andrew Harris, adding a versatile and athletic defender to its spring transfer class. Harris, who visited Fayetteville earlier this week, announced his decision on Friday, becoming the Razorbacks' eighth portal addition of the cycle.
At the center of Harris’ decision was his relationship with Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams, who originally recruited him to UCF. Although Harris opted to stay with the Knights when Williams left for Arkansas in late 2022, their connection remained strong.
“I feel like me putting my trust in T-Will and me being the best man I can be and a better football player,” Harris said. “Coach T-Will, I feel like he’s going to change my life.”
This long-standing rapport ultimately played a critical role in Harris’ commitment, signaling both trust in the coaching staff and confidence in his fit within the Razorbacks’ defensive scheme.
Harris, listed at 6-foot-2 and 233 pounds, brings a strong athletic profile to Arkansas. A highly regarded prospect coming out of Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida, he earned offers from major programs including Michigan, Auburn, Florida State, Penn State, and Miami before choosing UCF.
As a senior in high school, Harris posted 72 tackles, four sacks, and three interceptions, while also flashing elite speed as a sprinter, recording a 10.72 in the 100 meters and a wind-assisted 21.5 in the 200. Though he was rated a three-star transfer by On3, his physical attributes remain a clear strength.
Harris played in 19 games over two seasons at UCF, primarily contributing on special teams. He finished with 14 total tackles and half a tackle for loss, including nine stops and one sack during the 2024 campaign. While his college production has been modest, Harris has room to grow and could benefit from a new environment and system.
His transition to Arkansas offers an opportunity for increased responsibility, especially under a coordinator who understands his skill set and has a track record of player development with plenty of room to grow in his game.
Harris’ commitment continues Arkansas’ active approach in the transfer portal, bringing in players with upside and previous ties to the coaching staff. As the Razorbacks aim to improve defensively in 2025, Harris represents both immediate depth and a long-term investment at linebacker.
