Tyrese Maxey injury update: 76ers star sidelined multiple weeks with tendon injury originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been trending in the wrong direction.
The Sixers have won just six out of their last 15 games heading into a Tuesday night matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies, and they’ve dropped precipitously in the standings in the Eastern Conference as a result.
After occupying a top-six spot for much of the current campaign, the Sixers now find themselves in the No. 8 spot in the East – in the Play-In range – with a couple of teams nipping at their heels.
And now the Sixers will be without offensive engine Tyrese Maxey for the next three weeks, at least, due to a tendon injury in his rink pinkie.
Here's the official announcement from the team:
Following consultation with multiple hand specialists, which included a review of additional imaging, Tyrese Maxey has been diagnosed with a tendon injury to the small finger on his right hand.
Maxey will be reevaluated in approximately three weeks. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
This story will be updated.
