It is that time of year in college football, when players are starting to look for their new homes, and for Notre Dame, it has seen one potential impact player in safety Kennedy Urlacher leave, and now two specialists.

First on Wednesday it was long snapper Rino Monteforte, who had been the Irish’s starter during this past year. He has graduated already, and will have two more years to play in college. Monteforte should have another starting job wherever he lands.

On Thursday, the special teams hits kept coming as kicker Zac Youkam entered the portal as well. He also will be a graduate transfer, as he got some place kicking opportunities this past fall when Mitch Jeter suffered an injury. It wasn’t pretty, as Youkam made just two of his five attempts, but he did make all 18 of his point after kicks.

Luckily for Notre Dame, these two positions are fairly easy to replace, especially since special teams coach Marty Biagi is one of the best in the country and multiple players will want to join the Irish as their replacements.
