Every year since 1953, the Portsmouth Invitational has been an opportunity for seniors to showcase their skills to NBA and Euroleague scouts to try and find a landing spot at the next level. This year, Michigan State basketball will have two representatives at the event who will use it as a platform to keep playing basketball professionally: Jaxon Kohler and Carson Cooper.

Kohler and Cooper are two interesting names to monitor during these showcases. I think both players have a case to make to NBA teams that they could contribute at the next level, with Kohler's elite shooting as a big, and Cooper's excellent defense and athleticism.

Last year, Jaden Akins used a strong performance at the Portsmouth Invitational to land an opportunity in the Detroit Pistons' organization, specifically with their G-League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise, where he was named a G-League All-Star this season.
