Two of the Jacksonville Jaguars' selections in the 2025 NFL draft made Field Yates' list of 'favorite picks in every round.'

Now that the dust has settled on the NFL draft, Yates went round-by-round and selected his five favorite selections from each one. We saw the Jaguars appear on this list in the first round, where they selected tight end Tyler Warren, and in the seventh round when they picked running back LeQuint Allen.

"I could have written this section prior to the draft, as any team acquiring Hunter would have landed one of the most unique prospects of all time," Yates wrote. "I could not have predicted the Jaguars making a bold trade up to the Browns' No. 2 pick for him. Hunter has legitimate Pro Bowl ability on either side of the ball, and he instantly forms one of the most exciting receiver duos in the league with Brian Thomas Jr."

The addition of Hunter to the Jaguars' roster will give both the wide receiver position and the cornerback room a big boost. As a wideout in 2025, Hunter caught 79% of his 121 targets and averaged over 13 yards per catch, per PFF.

On defense, he allowed a completion rate of just 56% and still managed four interceptions and seven pass breakups while being targeted just 41 times.

The Jaguars plan to play Hunter on both sides of the ball and have a schedule in place for him, but as Liam Coen said, they'll remain "fluid" throughout all of this. To start, the bulk of Hunter's workload this offseason will be wide receiver as he gets onboarded.

The second Jaguars' selection to appear on Yates' list was Allen, who can bring a versatile presence out of the backfield.

"Allen was one of the best pass-catching backs in this class, joining Skattebo as the only FBS players with 1,000-plus rushing yards and 500-plus receiving yards in 2024. But Syracuse did not limit Allen to being just a dump-off target for quarterback Kyle McCord; they schemed up a ton of touches for Allen in space. He's an average runner, yet the receiving upside gives him a chance to stick around on Jacksonville's 53-man roster."

In addition to eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons, Allen had 78 targets in the passing game last year as well, catching 64 of those passes for 529 yards.

Beyond the production, also important and, as Yates' notes, is that Allen was a focal point at times in the Syracuse passing game with schemed-up targets. He also has experience lining up in the slot.

If we look at the 2024 Tampa Bay offense under Coen, having a pass-catching threat at the running back position was a key element to the offense.
