Sure, what you did in college doesn't matter in the NFL, but for a pair of Jacksonville Jaguars stars, their college accomplishments cement them as two of the biggest men on campus ever.
ESPN released its Top 100 players according to jersey numbers and the among the numeric list are two cornerstones for the Jaguars.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, coming off a breakout 2025 NFL season, secured his spot along with Travis Hunter, who has only a handful of NFL games under his belt.
Trevor Lawrence starred at Clemson from 2018–20, leading the Tigers to a national championship and compiling a remarkable 34-2 record as a starter. A Heisman Trophy runner-up and All-American, he finished his college career with 10,098 passing yards, 90 touchdown passes and a 67% completion rate. Lawrence was known for his consistency, elite play from the moment he arrived, and ability to win at the highest level, cementing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in modern college football.
Lawrence, selected first overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft, has developed into one of the franchise’s cornerstone players. He led Jacksonville to AFC South Division titles in 2022 and 2025, earning Pro Bowl honors and helping return the team to the playoffs. In 2025, Lawrence threw for 4,007 yards and 29 touchdowns while adding 359 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Through his NFL career, he has totaled over 17,800 passing yards, 98 touchdown passes, and 23 rushing touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the league’s top young quarterbacks.
Travis Hunter starred at Jackson State and Colorado from 2022–24 as one of college football’s most dynamic two-way players, excelling at both wide receiver and defensive back. In his 2024 Heisman-winning season, he played 1,356 snaps while posting 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he allowed just 16 receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown while adding 37 tackles and four interceptions. His remarkable season earned the Heisman Trophy and multiple major national awards.
Hunter was selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft and quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s most versatile players by contributing at both wide receiver and cornerback. During his rookie season, he recorded 28 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown while adding 15 tackles, three pass deflections, and one interception on defense. His standout performance came against the Los Angeles Rams, where he totaled 101 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a pass defensed, showcasing his rare two-way talent.
