A pair of Milwaukee Brewers have been named to the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
While it's been well-documented that Jacob Misiorowski will not be pitching in this year's All-Star Game, he's still been named to the game, marking his second appearances in his first two seasons.
As for the second player, look no further than catcher William Contreras. Contreras has widely been regarded as one of the best offensive catchers in the league, but it can't be understated how solid he is behind the dish. Now, Contreras is set to make his third appearance in an All-Star Game.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Curt Hogg, this marks the first catcher-and-pitcher combination the Brewers are sending to the All-Star Game since a loaded 2021 season. That year, catcher Omar Narvaez was joined by four pitchers: Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff, and Josh Hader.
Hogg posted a three-minute interview with Miz's reaction to being named an All-Star, and the most notable quote from him was a simple statement: "This year I proved it wasn't a fluke thing."
Misiorowski isn't necessarily coming off his best start of the season, but it's one that saw him still allow just one earned run, even though he ultimately allowed five.
Regardless, he's 9-4 on the year with a 1.47 ERA and 0.78 WHIP, both of which are the best in all of baseball. If that's not impressive enough, his 156 strikeouts are by far the most among all pitchers.
Remember, the 24-year-old had something extra to prove this season after many thought he didn't deserve the nod a year ago. Misiorowski appeared in the 2025 All-Star Game after just five career starts, but he's done everything in his power to prove the doubters wrong.
The Brewers have a big decision to make with Contreras's contract soon coming to an end. It's not going to be cheap to keep him, but the state of this organization's catchers could shift, drastically, if Contreras signs with another team.
At 28 years old, Contreras is having a career year. He's slashing .293/.358/.416 with an OPS of .774. Through 82 games he has nine home runs and 51 RBIs.
Contreras once again has a positive WAR, and it's worth noting that number hasn't been below 3.7 during his four-years in Milwaukee. Currently, it's 1.5 which seems like a drastic downfall, but there's still an entire second half to go and that's a number most catchers across the league would dream of having.

Well Deserved Nod For Misiorowski

Contreras Keeps Getting Better
