A court ruling concerning Ole Miss may be of interest to Texas football fans.
The NCAA’s appeal to the Mississippi Supreme Court in the Trinidad Chambliss eligibility case has been denied," ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Friday. "He’ll be eligible to play for Ole Miss in 2026."
Chambliss applied for another year of eligibility with Ole Miss after the past season ended. He transferred to the Rebels in 2025 after starring with Division II Ferris State and led the team to the College Football Playoff semifinals. The NCAA had filed an appeal, trying to bar the 23-year-old from continuing his college career.
Texas will play Ole Miss on Oct. 24.
