Kansas City Chiefs star Trey Smith was ranked No. 2 overall in Bleacher Report’s rankings of the top right guards in the NFL for the 2026 season.

”When available, Smith remained one of football's premier interior enforcers, pairing prototypical guard size with elite competitive toughness, heavy hands and immense raw power,” Bleacher Report’s Brandon Thorn said of the former sixth-round pick. “The most encouraging development was his pass protection, where his hand usage looked as balanced and controlled as it has been in his career.”

Smith was ranked behind Denver Broncos lineman Quinn Meinerz, who took the No. 1 spot on Bleacher Report's list.

Entering the 2026 season, Smith should be considered one of the most important players on Kansas City's roster and will play a key role as one of Patrick Mahomes' most important blockers on the Chiefs' front five.

Expect Smith to fight for recognition as the league's premier right guard when the regular season begins in September.
