Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson made a surprise appearance at practice on Tuesday, just one day after issuing a scathing message through the media about his contract standoff with the team.

Wearing casual attire on the sidelines, Hendrickson gave an interview in which he said things have become "personal" between him and the team.

Hendrickson often threw out the word "disappointed" and suggested he won't play next season on his current contract, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Kelsey Conway.

After 20-plus minutes, one of the bigger points of the session was the All-Pro defender revealing that Bengals head coach Zac Taylor let him know fines would occur if he misses mandatory minicamp, per WCPO's Marshall Kramsky:

Trey Hendrickson said that Zac Taylor’s text about being fined if he sits out of mandatory minicamp happened BEFORE he released his statement about the Bengals lack of communication. #Bengals@WCPO

Hendrickson expressed frustration with the team's focus on short-term deals, too, among other things in footage from WLWT's Charlie Clifford:
