Trey Hendrickson Already Setting Defensive Tone
Even in a non-padded OTA environment, Trey Hendrickson is already standing out as more than just a pass-rush addition. The early internal impression is that he's operating as a tone-setter in both preparation and execution.
What stands out most is how he approaches installs—not just focusing on his assignment, but understanding the full structure around him. That broader awareness is accelerating communication within the defensive front.
“Just to watch his process of how he learns, how he needs to know what he needs to know and also know what everybody else is doing.”
That type of engagement naturally translates into leadership within the edge group, especially for younger players who are still adjusting to the system and its expectations.
“He’s an unbelievable leader in the edge room. He's helping really bring those young guys along as well.”
On the field, his technical traits are already showing up in controlled reps, particularly in hand usage and timing at the snap.
“He uses his hands really, really well… he brings it every play.”
The early takeaway is that his impact is already extending beyond individual performance to how the unit learns and operates.
