The argument can be made that two-way star Travis Hunter is the best Colorado football player in the past two-plus decades. Hunter certainly is one of the top players of the 2020s, and The Sporting News honored him with a spot on its All-Decade All-America Team.
Hunter earns the all-purpose spot given his two-way prowess as an elite cornerback and receiver. The former Colorado star was a no-brainer for the spot given his Heisman Trophy-winning season with the Buffs. During that year, Hunter racked up 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he was equally impressive, recording 36 total tackles, four interceptions and 11 passes defended.
Other players to make the All-2020s team include former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, former Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and last year's No. 1 overall pick quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
Hunter's two-way abilities did not translate to his rookie season in the NFL after he missed most of the season with a knee injury and was used sparingly when compared to the amount of snaps he played at Colorado.
Coming into his second year, Hunter has bulked up and is seemingly better equipped to handle the rigors of an NFL season. The Jacksonville Jaguars currently list Hunter as one of their starting cornerbacks, but he is behind several other wide receivers on the offensive side.
The Jaguars will open preseason play in New Orleans against the Saints on Aug. 15 and the regular season on Sept. 13 against Shedeur Sanders' Cleveland Browns.
