MIAMI GARDENS - The Miami Dolphins have acquired a potential backup offensive tackle and/or guard in a trade with the New England Patriots.
Miami has acquired tackle Caedan Wallace and a 2029 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round selection.
Wallace, 26, was a third-round selection by the Patriots out of Penn State in 2024.
Wallace has 10 games played with two starts for the Patriots.
Wallace, 6-foot-5, 314 pounds, is very athletic for his size and capable of playing tackle or guard.
Scouting reports entering the draft suggested Wallace is tenacious but can have imcomsistent pad level.
In other news, the Dolphins signed cornerback Nick McCloud, placed kicker Zane Gonzalez on the injured reserve list and waived running back Anthony Hankerson.
This puts Riley Patterson in position to start at kicker for the Dolphins. McCloud has 63 games, and 20 starts, in five NFL seasons with four teams.
