Southern Miss baseball has both players and signees that could be taken in the 2026 MLB Draft.
The Golden Eagles have added six players from the transfer portal so far this offseason and have painted a picture as to what the team might look like in 2027, but the draft could change things. Starting left fielder Davis Gillespie is one player who could hear his name called, and if he does get drafted, he will have to decide between returning to Southern Miss and moving on to the professional level.
Additionally, a few of the high school signees are listed on prospect lists. The results of the draft could add some uncertainty to who is on the team in 2027 for coach Christian Ostrander.
The draft begins July 11 (noon, NBC/Peacock) in Philadelphia with Rounds 1-4. Rounds 5-20 are on July 12 (10:30 a.m., MLB.com).
