Rushville

A few elite individuals from the Rushville track and field teams traveled to Warren Central Friday. Most everyone came away with a season or lifetime best.

According to Coach Tush, the competition for Rushville’s top athletes is the main reason to go to meets like this. Those that made the trip should be very pleased with their efforts against the bigger Indianapolis schools.

Outstanding performances from the two Lady Lions that competed came from Emily Rouse in the long jump with a near lifetime best jump of 16’-1.5 placing her sixth and Melaney Mahan with a lifetime best in the 3200

For the Lions, lifetime bests came from Liam Gurley and Quintin Adams in the discus with throws of 130-4 and 106-2 respectively. Wyatt Jacobs bettered his lifetime best in the mile with a time of 4:57.96 while Jacob Schwendeman and Hudson Schutz came away with season bests in the 110 hurdles and 800 as did Logan Jacobs in the pole vault.

The RCHS track and field teams have a busy week with the Rush County Showcase at 5 p.m. Wednesday where the “Fastest Kid in Rush County” will be crowned, weather permitting. Senior Night is 5 p.m. Thursday against Hauser and Friday Rushville travels to the Northeastern Invitational.
