In blistering summer heat, with temperatures soaring to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, Mads Pedersen ultimately emerged victorious after a battle to the finish.

This stage included 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) of total elevation gain and four categorized climbs. The final ascent led into a sweeping descent and a flat approach to the finish in Foix, which played to Pedersen's strengths, with his powerful sprint securing the stage win and marking his first since the Vuelta a España stage 15 back in 2025.

Pedeesen praised his LIDL-TREK teammates Quinn Simmons and Mathias Vacek, saying they did an incredible job to prevent losing too much time at the front, according to Cyclingnews. He emphasized it was a true team win and effort today.
