Recently appointed Matebele FC head coach Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane has had a tough start to his new coaching role in Botswana.

The Kaizer Chiefs legend has been entrusted with guiding the Botswana FNB Premiership outfit to a respectable finish in the league.

Last season, Matebele finished in 12th place in the 16-team championship under Sean Connor, who left for Jwaneng Galaxy in the back end of last season.

Now, with Letsholonyane at the helm, in what is his first-ever sole head coach job, the club has suffered back-to-back defeats in the league.

The former Bafana international made his coaching debut against compatriot, Owen Da Gama, whose Black Lions team walked away as 1-0 victors last Saturday.

Now, Matebele were subjected to a 3-0 thumping by Orapa United on Wednesday afternoon, taking their defeat tally to four after five league outings.

Letsholonyane’s side is currently in 11th place in the Botswana topflight standings, with three points accumulated thus far.

The ex-Chiefs midfield maestro will be keen to get off the mark when his troops take on TAFIC on Sunday afternoon.
