SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Jason Jutronich has faced the pressure of winning a Division I championship at Torrey Pines, so four minutes in the interview chair was a walk in the park.
It also wasn’t the first time the Falcons lefthander had a mic pointed at him by KUSI – you have to go back seven years to 2019 when Jutronich was playing for Solana Beach Little League.

“I remember this year exactly,” Jutronich said while watching it by surprise replay. “That was one of the greatest times of my life…looking back on it now, I miss a lot of those guys.”
But now is the time for Jason to look forward, as the MLB Draft takes place this weekend.
Jutronich has the luxury of being able to choose between two fruitful paths. If he is drafted in one of the 20 rounds, Jascon can sign and begin his minor league service at 18 years old. But in his back pocket sits a scholarship commitment to UCSB. Both options have cash involved, from the money given by a major league club on one hand, to the joys of NIL if he goes along the college path.
“It just depends on what I want to do and what my family thinks is best for me,” Jutronich said. “There’s two great options in front of me, and I’m excited for both. College, I obviously get a degree, get to mature and grow and try to…come out of there [as a] first rounder.”
“Going straight to the draft, I do exactly like what I wanted to do since I’ve been four or five years old. This is my been my dream. So I kind of compete at the highest level of baseball and get paid to do it,”
Jutronich struck out 87 batters in his high school career, earning a 2.47 ERA with Torrey Pines. He is ranked as one of the top 400 prospects in the MLB Draft.
