Top returning MSU tight end to reportedly enter transfer portal

A promising talent on the Spartans' offensive side of the ball is reportedly planning to enter the transfer portal.

Chris Hummer of 247Sports reported on Saturday evening that Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens next week. Masunas will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Masunas played three seasons for the Spartans, with appearances in 25 games during his time at Michigan State. He recorded 19 receptions for 232 yards and three touchdowns this past season, which was by far his best year with the Spartans.

With veteran Jack Velling's college career done, Masunas was inline to be the top tight end on the Spartans roster next season. However, it appears he'll be entering the portal and look for a new home next season. I'm sure he'll be one of the more coveted tight ends on the market when the transfer portal opens on January 2.
