The Los Angeles Rams didn't have too many big in-house free agents this offseason. And the biggest one they did have, safety Kamren Curl, re-signed with the team before the legal tampering period opened on Monday.

A few names remain on the open market — two of whom made ESPN's top-45 list of unsigned players following the first way of free agency. Cornerbacks Cobie Durant and Roger McCreary each made the list, with Durant coming in at No. 17 and McCreary falling to No. 38.

With his smaller frame (5-foot-11, 185 pounds), big wide receivers can create matchup advantages versus Durant on the perimeter. However, he can run and play inside. In 2025, Durant had three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

The Rams traded for McCreary midseason, but he played only 37 snaps in Los Angeles. McCreary has limited career ball production (three interceptions over four seasons), but he has the traits to play in the slot.

It's unclear if the Rams would bring either player back now, especially after trading for Trent McDuffie and signing Jaylen Williams. Between those two and Emmanuel Forbes Jr., the Rams have three quality starting cornerbacks. Durant was great at times for L.A., but he may not have a clear role in the secondary now. The same applies to McCreary, who didn't play much in 2025 due to injury. The Rams traded for him, though, so perhaps they still see something in him.

Either way, the fact that both remain on the open market means they weren't highly-coveted players when other teams were spending lavishly. Now, though, another team (and perhaps even the Rams) can bring either player back on a cheaper deal.
