Ryan Day and the Ohio State football staff pay very little attention to national rankings or ratings, but if they were to take a look on Wednesday morning, they would notice one of their top targets has gained a star. The site 247Sports updated its rankings, and Buckeye target RB David Gabriel Georges officially became a five-star pursuit.
This news should not be a surprise to most, according to the 247 Sports Composite, David is currently the No. 2 running back and the No. 10 player overall. David plays out of Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, and is the top player in the state. David recently released a list of his top eight schools, which also included Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Auburn, Miami, and Ole Miss. While Ohio State is currently considered the favorite (premium content), that isn't stopping the Volunteers from aggressively trying to convince David to stay home.
Adam Gorney of On3 had this to say about George's recruitment. “From his relationship with position coach Carlos Locklyn to Ohio State’s success at running back, the Buckeyes will be tough to beat,” noted Gorney. “Tennessee is in this recruitment along with others, but it would be a stunner if Gabriel Georges didn’t end up in Columbus.”
David is listed at 6-feet and 205-pounds and only recently moved to the United States from Quebec.
