Titans defeat 49ers: Who was the preseason Week 1 player of the game?

The Tennessee Titans opened their preseason slate with a 19-13 win against the San Francisco 49ers. In a low-scoring affair throughout, their player of the game stood out relatively easily with a perfect outing after struggling recently in practice.

Player of the Game: K Joey Slye​

The Titans worked out a plethora of kickers after Joe Slye missed a couple of field goals during their Blue & White Scrimmage last Friday night. However, he had a good season as the team's starting kicker, drilling 80% of his field goals on 35 attempts.

His strong leg has always been intriguing, and he put it on display during the Titans' preseason opener. Slye made three kicks from 50+ yards (53, 55, 58) and four total field goals to lead the Titans in scoring. It is safe to assume he has likely locked in the starting job for another season in Nashville.

The Titans are back in action next Sunday, Aug. 23, when they face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in a Sunday Night Football matchup.
