The Tennessee Titans spent the past few days at minicamp, and while Cam Ward was better, there were still some uneven moments.
Fortunately, neither head coach Robert Saleh nor offensive coordinator Brian Daboll appears to be too concerned by what is taking place at the facility. In fact, Saleh addressed Ward’s accuracy before the team hit the field on Tuesday.
“All of these guys are going to miss throws,” Saleh said. “I would say Brock Purdy is one of the most accurate, and he would miss things here and there. But as we get closer, as he gets more comfortable with the system, as he gets more comfortable with what he’s being asked to do, play in and play out, the expectation is things will clean up.”
Yes, watching Ward have uneven moments may be a bit concerning for fans, but in all reality, this is the time for these growing pains to take place, and they are understandable. Ward may be a tireless worker, but the fact that he is under his third playcaller and a completely new scheme for a second time before he takes a snap in his second season lends itself to him having some uneven moments.

#Titans Robert Saleh said he's not too concerned about the misses and inaccuracy issues Cam Ward has encountered so far. Saleh went on to say he's seen Brock Purdy miss in OTAs as well and Purdy is one of the most accurate QBs in the league. pic.twitter.com/R1r7f4Hgz9
