The Tennessee Titans underwent a massive overhaul this offseason. The coaching staff is entirely new, with the exception of special teams coordinator Bones Fassel. After several years of downright awful performances, the Titans knew something had to give. So they hired Robert Saleh as head coach, who brought in Brian Daboll and Gus Bradley as his offensive and defensive coordinators, and together with Mike Borgonzi, the Titans roster saw plenty of changes as well.

Between free agency and the draft, the Titans brought in new faces and let some familiar ones go, but which position group is the most improved? Many would toss that hat to the pass catchers for adding guys like Carnell Tate, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Daniel Bellinger. But one NFL writer has a different take:

Titans defensive line and linebackersThe Titans’ front seven is definitely grabbing my attention this season. There’s an array of maulers and mashers up front, with a fun dynamic duo of linebackers in Cedric Gray and Anthony Hill Jr. behind them. That’s worthy of getting a screen every Sunday

Additions to the Titans' defensive line include John Franklin-Myers, Jermaine Johnson II, Jordan Elliott, Jacob Martin, and Keldric Faulk, among others, with Jeffery Simmons remaining the staple that anchors the group. The defensive front four are wildly more talented than the front three the Titans worked with last season. The only rookie in that group is Faulk, and that veteran experience will go a long way in 2026.

The linebacking corps leaves a little to be desired right now. It's pretty slim on the depth chart, with Cedric Gray, Cody Barton, and James Williams Sr. set to start. Anthony Hill Jr. and Mohamoud Diabate are behind them, and after that? It's crickets mostly.

There will be no argument about the defensive line being incredibly improved, but the linebackers could still use some help. The Titans still have plenty of cap space to work with, so it won't be surprising if or when they add bodies to the rotation.
