With the Minnesota Timberwolves having undergone some roster remodeling this offseason, the team made a concerted effort to start building chemistry with still over a month to go before training camp begins. Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, and the rest of the Timberwolves roster flew to France to visit Rudy Gobert in his home country, with Gobert giving his teammates a tour of the French capital, Paris.
In fact, on Sunday, the Timberwolves went on a tour on the Seine, the river that runs directly alongside the iconic Eiffel Tower. This is the famous landmark in which Gobert is nicknamed after (Stifle Tower), and Edwards was clearly having fun gazing at the marvelous view.
Of course, Edwards did not forget to bring his signature comedic flair. He likened the Eiffel Tower to the Disney castle, which is certainly more recognizable for an American like Edwards.

“That s**t like Walt Disney. That Walt Disney, Rudy,” Edwards said with a deadpan conviction, via Gobert’s Instagram story.
Edwards must be a joy to play with, not just because of what he brings to the court, but also because of how infectious his personality is off of it. The Timberwolves star is unabashedly himself wherever he goes, which can ruffle some feathers and lead to some politically incorrect moments, but more often than not, what he brings to the team is a net positive.

At the end of the day, the Timberwolves simply want to win, which is why they were so aggressive this offseason in remodeling the roster. They are going to play at such a breakneck pace, and they perhaps flew to France to prepare Gobert for this kind of play style.
Whatever the case may be, the Timberwolves are shaping up to be in a good spot heading into the 2026-27 season, especially when they’re already bonding like brothers off the court.
