The Missouri Tigers kicked off their second outdoor meet of the season in impressive fashion, turning heads at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC, from March 26–27. Across two days of competition, Mizzou athletes surged to multiple top-10 finishes and etched their names into the program’s all-time lists.
Thursday’s Events
Men’s 3,000m Steeplechase
Elijah Limo shocked Tiger fans with an eighth-place finish, recording the school’s second-fastest time of 8:40.60. He was followed by Joshua Allison, who placed 19th and posted a top-six all-time school mark of 8:49.31.
Men’s 1,500m Race
Lasse Funck finished 13th overall, recording a top-five all-time mark in program history with a time of 3:41.98. Alongside him, Finnian Russell placed 18th and posted the program’s seventh-fastest time at 3:42.60. Rounding out the Tigers, Ethan Hogan finished 87th with a new personal best of 3:48.34.
Men’s 10,000m Race
Leading the Tigers in 21st was Tyler Freiner, who finished with an outstanding time of 29:16.59. In 38th, Drew Rogers claimed his time of 29.39.23.
Men’s 5,000m Race
Carter Spradling placed 67th for the Tigers with a time of 14:16.58. Unfortunately, Ryder James did not finish the race.
Friday’s Events
Women’s 1,500m Race
Morgan Yeoman started the second day strong with a 63rd place finish in the race with a time of 4:25.99. In 78th, Brianna Lee finished the race with her new personal best time of 4:27.17. Rounding it out for the Tigers was Allison Newman in 119th, with her new personal best time of 4:31.19.
Women’s 3,400m Race (Weather Impacted 5k)
Suzy Lecoutre finished the race in eighth overall with a time of 11:00.48. Alongside her, Kobi Walker finished right behind her in ninth with a time of 11:01.32. Allison Newman did not finish the race.
Women’s 5,000m Invitational
Unfortunately, Monica Wanjiku and Mirriam Chepkirui were unable to compete in their scheduled 10,000m race. Hopefully, they will be back on the track for the upcoming meet.

What’s Next
The Tigers will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for their next meet, where they will compete in the Battle on the Bayou. The event is scheduled to take place from Friday, April 3, through Saturday, April 4.
With strong competition ahead, Missouri will need to show up and perform at its best. That said, the distance runners, along with the field event athletes, have already proven their abilities and will look to do the same at this upcoming meet.
