Tiger Woods has a decision to make.
At the Hero World Challenge in December, the 15-time major champion said the PGA of America had not talked with him about the captaincy for 2027 at Adare Manor in Ireland. In the two months since, that has changed, and the ball is in Tiger's court.
Ahead of the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Woods was once again asked about the captaincy and whether he had heard from the PGA of America.
"Yeah, they have asked me for my input on it, and I haven't made my decision yet," Woods said. "I'm trying to figure out what we're trying to do with our tour. That's been driving me hours upon hours every day and trying to figure out if I can actually do our team, our Team USA and our players and everyone that's going to be involved in the Ryder Cup, if I can do it justice with my time."
Woods is, of course, referring to his role in reshaping the PGA Tour's schedule. As chairman of the Future Competitions Committee, Woods had a large hand in working with players, media partners, sponsors and more as the Tour likely undergoes major changes for its schedule in 2027 and beyond.
That takes plenty of time. Add if Woods still wants to play from time to time, too, that's another commitment.
"Serving on two boards and what I'm doing for the PGA Tour, I'm trying to figure out if I can actually do this and serve the people that are involved and serve them at an honorable level," Woods said.

Has the PGA of America asked Tiger Woods to be the 2027 Ryder Cup captain?
